The Project Unit is responsible for project management within the community building area in Motala Municipality. The unit ensures that projects are carried out within decided frameworks for budget, time, and quality.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a project manager, you are responsible for leading, steering, and coordinating the municipality's construction projects from early stages to completed buildings. The projects include, among other things, new construction and renovation of sports and leisure facilities, schools, care residences, and other municipal operational premises. A significant part of the assignment in the coming years will be linked to the design and implementation of the municipality's swimming hall project, which is one of the municipality's larger investments.

You represent the municipality in the role of client and are responsible for steering and supervising external consultants who carry out all or part of the operational project management, design, and implementation. The work is carried out in close collaboration with the municipality's operations, contractors, and internal support functions.

The assignment includes leading and coordinating construction projects throughout the entire process, from preliminary studies and design to production and handover. You are responsible for time, economy, quality, and working environment, as well as ensuring that the procurement of consultants and contractors takes place according to the Public Procurement Act (LOU). A central part of the role is to steer, coordinate, and supervise consultants responsible for all or part of the operational project management. The role also involves following up on contracts, handling changes and risks, and ensuring that projects are carried out according to current legislation, the municipality's project model, and political decisions. You report regularly to steering groups and relevant decision-makers.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who:

• have a relevant university degree in construction, engineering, or equivalent experience considered equivalent by the employer.
• have experience of project management within construction projects.
• have good knowledge of the construction process and contract law, such as AB, ABT, ABK.
• have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish.

It is meritorious if you have experience of working in a municipality or other public organization, knowledge of the Public Procurement Act (LOU), and experience of local investments.
