Family Therapist for Individual and Family Care in Mörbylånga Municipality

The entire island of Öland attracts more and more people every year. Unique environments, high quality of life, and proximity to both city and sea make Öland an attractive place to visit and live. Southern Öland is characterized by a strong forward-looking spirit, commitment, and our fantastic World Heritage Site.

Mörbylånga Municipality is located in the southern part of Öland and consists of approximately 1,200 dedicated and competent employees driven by the desire to make a difference in our society. We are now looking for more employees who want to contribute to Öland continuing to be a fantastic place to live, work, and visit.

About the Role

The Individual and Family Care department operates services targeting all groups within social services, with a clear mandate to create added value for the municipality's citizens. The position of Family Therapist is located within the Individual and Family Support unit, which currently consists of 8 employees led by a Unit Manager.

The unit's mission is to provide the right intervention at the right time to the right person, which entails responsibility for the quality implementation of interventions within the social services sector. The mandate ranges from early preventive measures to targeted interventions in more complex situations and needs. Interventions consist of both general and individually needs-assessed measures, as well as measures without needs assessment for children, young people, and parents.

The workplace is located in central Färjestaden with good communication links to Kalmar and other parts of Öland.

With us, you are offered a sustainable working life and good opportunities for personal development. You can expect the advantages of a small municipality, such as quick decision-making paths, multifaceted tasks that contribute to breadth and a holistic view with the individual's needs at the center, as well as small units with close proximity to colleagues and other professions.

Responsibilities

We are now looking for a Family Therapist with competence and experience working with children, young people, and families within individual and family care. As a Family Therapist, you work with children, young people, and their families, focusing on creating sustainable changes based on the child's needs and the family's conditions.

The target group is primarily families with children and young people aged 0–18. The work is based on strengthening parents' ability to meet and fulfill the child's needs, as well as identifying and strengthening protective factors around the child or young person.

We work from a systemic, resource- and solution-focused approach where the child's development and well-being are understood in relation to family, network, school, and other important contexts. By viewing the child as part of several interconnected systems, we create conditions for sustainable change.

The family's own strengths, resources, and networks are utilized, and interventions are designed in close collaboration with children, young people, guardians, and other significant persons in the child's vicinity.

The work is varied and requires flexibility, as the content of assignments and the needs of families vary. You plan and structure your work based on the nature of the assignment and collaborate closely with social secretaries and other key actors surrounding the child and family.

Together, we contribute to creating secure upbringing conditions and giving children and young people the best possible conditions to develop and reach their full potential.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are educated as a social worker, social pedagogue, or have another university education that the employer deems equivalent. A Category B driver's license is required.

To thrive and succeed in the role, you are a secure and stable person with good empathetic ability and high personal maturity. You have a professional approach and are skilled at creating and developing trusting relationships.

You are flexible and adaptable based on the needs of the operations and the target group. You are also loyal, have good cooperation skills, and enjoy working with others, while feeling secure working independently and taking personal responsibility. You are structured and have good ability to plan, prioritize, and carry out your work in an effective and legally secure manner.

We are looking for someone who is engaged in the field of operations and takes responsibility for both your assignment and the overall operation. You have an interest in method and operational development and actively contribute to developing methods and quality in the operations. You express yourself well in speech and writing and communicate clearly and professionally.

It is meritorious if you have experience of similar work. It is also meritorious if you have further education in systemic work with families and/or training in structured individual CBT-based skills training, Repulse, and parenting support programs.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability. We value the qualities that diversity and equal gender distribution bring to the operations and therefore welcome applicants with different backgrounds and life experiences for the position.

To be considered for employment, an extract from the criminal record for work in residential homes for youth (HVB) must be presented and assessed by the employer. Employment can only take place if the employer assesses that the extract is compatible with the requirements of the position.

What We Offer

  • Salary: Monthly salary.
  • Employment type: Permanent employment.
  • Duration: Permanent.

Mörbylånga Municipality strives for a more even gender distribution in our staff groups. This is part of the municipality's overall gender equality work, which we take into account during the recruitment process.
