We aim to capture every child's and student's desire to learn and encourage every individual to want to develop.

Central Student Health Services is a municipality-wide resource working to promote the health, development, and learning of children and students. The operations include medical, psychological, psychosocial, and special pedagogical interventions and are organized both locally at schools and centrally under the administrative office. We serve children and students aged 1–16 within preschool, compulsory school, and adapted compulsory school. Our overarching mission is to support learning, remove obstacles, and work in a health-promoting and preventive manner.

The School Social Team temporarily strengthens local student health services at specific units. The assignment involves actively working with students at the individual, group, and sometimes organizational levels, in collaboration with the school. The team consists of several professions – special needs teachers, psychologists, counselors, and school social workers – and contributes with both direct interventions and competence development based on their combined expertise. The focus is on preventing and counteracting problematic school absenteeism. The assignment is given by the principal when the school's own resources are insufficient. The team then conducts an in-depth mapping to identify factors affecting the student's school attendance. Interventions and adjustments are then planned in close collaboration with the school. The work is carried out jointly throughout the process, and the school gradually takes over responsibility as measures are established.

Job Responsibilities

As a counselor in the School Social Team, you are an important part of Central Student Health Services and contribute a clear psychosocial perspective. You work in a health-promoting and preventive manner and are an expert in social work. The job includes:

• Collaborating with students, guardians, and school staff.
• Working at the individual, group, and organizational levels.
• Conducting mappings and contributing to action plans.
• Mentoring school staff.
• Conducting lectures to increase attendance.

The work is varied and takes place in close collaboration both within the team and with external actors.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in social work (socionom) or another equivalent education.

• Good knowledge of relevant legislation.
• Current knowledge within your professional field.
• Ability to work systematically and drive processes forward.

It is meritorious if you have experience working with children and young people, preferably as a school counselor, as well as knowledge of the school's mission, curriculum, and value base. We value that you are good at building trusting relationships, thrive in collaboration, and can also work independently. Experience of collaboration with, for example, the region and social services is an advantage. Personal suitability is given great weight.
