The Preschool and Primary Education Department is one of Varberg Municipality's largest departments with nearly 2,200 employees. Within our areas of operation – preschool, primary school, and child and student health services – we are here for children and students. Together, we shape the future.

Hagaskolan is a comprehensive school (grades 1-9) with approximately 440 students. The school has four after-school centers. We are Sweden in miniature, with diversity among both students and staff. Hagaskolan is located in central Varberg with easy access to public transport. Everyone is welcome at Hagaskolan, and we work hard to ensure that every student reaches their full potential.

We have been working on teaching development under the umbrella of "Comprehensible Teaching" for several years. We have very skilled staff, both qualified and with extensive experience. The school is led (from 1/8/2026) by a principal and two deputy principals.

Job Responsibilities

As a teacher with us, you play a central role in creating a safe, developmental, and motivating environment where we together create the best possible meeting for learning. By planning, implementing, and following up on your teaching, you provide students with the prerequisites to grow based on their unique needs and goals.

Main responsibilities:

• Teaching in grade 3 in Swedish, Math, Science, English, and Art. Teaching in Science and English in both third-grade classes.
• Plan, lead, and evaluate teaching based on steering documents and chosen didactic strategies.
• Meet each student in their knowledge progression and strengthen their creativity, curiosity, and self-confidence through professional leadership.
• Develop stimulating learning environments that encourage learning, participation, and student influence.
• Promote a holistic view of the student's school day through close collaboration with colleagues and guardians.
• Actively participate in the school's systematic quality work and contribute to a formative approach in the pedagogical everyday life.
• Collaborate with colleagues in both the school and after-school centers.

Qualifications

You are a secure pedagogical leader who provides guidance with warmth and clarity and creates the structure required for a safe learning environment. For you, collaboration with colleagues is a prerequisite for success; you collaborate without hierarchy to develop the operation together with others.

You are skilled at building relationships and create trusting contacts with both students and guardians. You have a good feel for the group, are flexible, have didactic ability, and adapt your methods based on students' different needs, knowledge progression, and daily condition.

We are looking for you who:

• Have a teaching license with eligibility for teaching in most subjects, but absolutely in Math and Science for the younger school years.
• Have the ability to base your teaching on proven experience and scientific foundation.
• Show skill in planning and following up on the operation systematically based on given frameworks.
• Have good assessment ability to follow up on students' development and give constructive feedback.
• Possess clear planning ability to structure lessons and work areas.

Salary: Monthly salary.
