About Us
Pain Team Västra Götaland is a unit within the Region of Västra Götaland offering care to individuals over 18 years of age with non-malignant chronic pain. The unit launched in January 2025 and serves patients in need of an interdisciplinary treatment approach. Care is provided both physically and digitally, covering the entire region. We work in interdisciplinary treatment teams with the capacity to offer a comprehensive core range of specialized pain care. To ensure equitable care throughout Västra Götaland, we standardize our treatment offerings based on the best available knowledge, providing interventions both individually and in groups.
We are now looking for an additional occupational therapist for our unit in Borås, located in premises on Solhem. The operations are conducted in close collaboration with Pain Centre East at Sahlgrenska University Hospital, which has primary responsibility for medical assessments and medication treatment.
About the Role
As an occupational therapist here, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team where you are one of two occupational therapists responsible for assessments and rehabilitation interventions for patients with chronic pain. You will work both individually and in groups, in close collaboration with the other professions in the team. Interventions are provided both on-site and digitally. In your role, you will actively participate in the team's collaboration regarding patients through, for example, team conferences, joint planning, and follow-up of treatment interventions. The team consists of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, social workers, medical secretaries, and doctors, providing a broad competence base and good conditions for coordinated interventions.
Since the unit is still under development, you will have excellent opportunities to influence how we work. Together with colleagues and unit managers, you will contribute to developing working methods, processes, and our treatment offerings.
We place great emphasis on continuous competence development. To ensure this, all employees have individual development plans that are monitored and updated regularly. There is an opportunity for remote work up to 20 percent of working hours.
About You
We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist. Experience from pain care or adult psychiatry is meritorious. It is also meritorious if you have education in the treatment of chronic pain and/or mental illness. Experience with digital care and digital tools is seen as an asset, as is a few years of experience in the profession.
To thrive and succeed in the role, you need to have an interest in, and preferably experience with, teamwork. You have a good ability to assess patients' rehabilitation potential and to document and summarize your assessments clearly.
We are looking for you who are confident in your professional role and appreciate working together with other professions. As a person, you are flexible, structured, and solution-focused, and have an interest in behavioral medical approaches, such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), motivational interviewing, or similar methods. Furthermore, you have the ability to see both the patient's and the organization's needs from a holistic perspective. We place great emphasis on personal suitability for the position.
Conditions
Selection will take place continuously during the application period.
Salary: Monthly salary, individual salary setting.
We warmly welcome your application!
