We are now looking for a School Nurse for Ryaskolan! The position is a fixed-term employment for the school year 2026/2027.

Responsibilities

You will be part of the school's student health team, which includes, in addition to two school nurses, a school psychologist, three school counselors, four special education teachers, a principal, and four deputy principals.

As a School Nurse within the Primary School Administration, you are part of the Student Health Medical Intervention (EMI). EMI includes health visits, health conversations, and vaccinations. The school nurse is responsible for organizing and planning their own and the school doctor's reception work during the school year. The work also involves issues concerning students' working environment, the school's values, and lifestyle-related ill health. You work primarily health-promoting and preventive for the students' health, development, and learning.

In your role as a school nurse, you become part of the Student Health service and collaborate with the school's staff and management based on the regulatory documents found in the Health and Medical Services Act, the Education Act, guidelines for student health, and the City of Gothenburg's Method Support. You have close contact with the school's students and also many contacts with guardians, external healthcare providers, and authorities outside the school.

As a school nurse, you are part of a professional network for other school nurses in the educational area, led by the Medical Leadership Responsible (MLA). You are offered introductory training and access to a mentor during the introduction period. School nurses receive profession-specific competence development and have the opportunity for regular supervision outside the school. School nurses can also supervise VFU (clinical education) students within the same profession and those studying on one of the approved further educations for school nurses.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are both a licensed nurse and specialized. Approved specializations are: Child and Adolescent, District, and School Nurse. Meritorious is experience of working as a school nurse and health-promoting work with children and young people. It is also meritorious if you have experience working with the PMO database system.

As a School Nurse in the school arena, you are confident, responsible, and flexible. You have an easy time building relationships and see development opportunities in everyone.
