About the research group
Anders Wittrup's group (RNA Therapeutics in Cancer) is located on the Gunnar Nilsson floor in Kampradhuset, directly adjacent to the oncology clinic at Skåne University Hospital (SUS) Lund. The floor houses several laboratories primarily working with primary brain tumors. Anders Wittrup's group works on various techniques to optimize RNA delivery to tumors and develops methods to study this process. Within the working group, we value a good work environment characterized by respect and care in our interactions with each other.
The research group is now seeking a Clinical Assistant. The position is full-time for a period of 6 months. The proposed start date is September 1, 2026.

Responsibilities
The Clinical Assistant will be responsible for initiating and driving a project aimed at characterizing new mechanisms for the intracellular delivery of RNA-based medicines. The assistant will specifically be responsible for establishing an extra-sensitive confocal microscopy-based method for the detection of small amounts of cytosolic RNA. The assistant will also be responsible, under some supervision, for image processing using self-developed code and software, as well as data analysis and manuscript writing.
Additional tasks within the research area may be added.
Qualifications
Requirements for the position:
- Completed medical degree or admitted to doctoral-level education in medicine at Lund University.
- MSc in Biomedicine or equivalent.
- Very good experience with live-cell microscopy.
- Very good experience with visualizing cytosolic RNA delivery.
- Very good experience working with lipid nanoparticles.
- Experience with image analysis.
Meritorious:
- Basic programming experience.
Other
The position is a fixed-term appointment as a Clinical Assistant at 100% for 6 months. The desired start date is September 1, 2026.
