Make a difference. Every day.
Our operations are growing, and we are therefore looking for more nurses who want to help develop our activities! Welcome to us at the Acute Orthopedic Ward in Kristianstad!
The Acute Orthopedic Ward is part of the Surgical Business Area and is one of the largest business areas at Kristianstad Central Hospital. We have a reception activity with surgical, vascular, upper/lower gastro, and breast/plastic surgery patients, as well as an oncological treatment unit. The other wards within our business area are Acute Surgery Ward (KAVA), Surgery Ward, Urology and Vascular Ward, and Gynecology Surgery ENT. Between the wards, we have an active collaboration with good development opportunities within the specialties.
The orthopedic activity at Kristianstad Central Hospital (CSK) includes acute operations, reception activity, and acute care ward. Elective orthopedic activity is run at the hospital in Hässleholm. Our orthopedic business area is a university healthcare unit. The level of ambition is high, and we strive towards the common goal of delivering high quality.
The Acute Orthopedic Ward is at the forefront regarding care development and consideration for the patient. The work on our ward is varied where no day is like the other. In the role of a nurse, you are challenged and developed by varying tasks, which include both pre- and postoperative care as well as rehabilitation.
In an interdisciplinary team, you work together with the patient and other professional categories to create conditions for the best person-centered care. We put the patient in focus, and to make this possible, we strive to reduce the number of patients per nurse.

DUTIES
We are now looking for two colleagues who want to work day, night, and evening shifts. We welcome both those who have worked for a while and accumulated valuable experience in the profession and those who are new to the role.
Together with the team, you as a nurse are responsible for the common nursing tasks on a surgical acute care ward, such as planning and carrying out nursing work and medical treatments. During our pulse rounds, all employees have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with all our professions. As a nurse, you act as a group leader in a constellation consisting of nurses and assistant nurses.
Many of our patients also have internal medical conditions, which means you continuously develop your competence. In addition to direct patient work, all employees are involved in developing and improving the care of our patients.
We offer regular internal lectures and workshops to spread and share knowledge. As a newly employed nurse, you will receive an adapted introduction over six weeks. As a newly graduated nurse, you also have the opportunity to participate in Region Skåne's clinical base year, which includes lectures, clinical skills training, and mentor meetings.
Employment is according to a basic schedule with rotation day/evening/night, where working hours, upon request and agreement with the manager, can be scheduled for most of the day, evening, or night shifts. Weekend duty is included, two out of five weekends. The ward applies a preference schedule.
