Adult Psychiatry Ward 54 is located at Helsingborg Hospital and is a general psychiatric ward for adults of all ages, with specialist competence in geriatric psychiatry. Here, patients aged 18 or older who are in need of specialized psychiatric inpatient care are treated. Common diagnoses include depression, bipolar disorder, delusional disorder, personality disorders, confusion, and dementia with psychiatric symptoms. We take into account the psychiatric, somatic, psychosocial, and existential well-being of the patients with an overarching goal of continuously developing and improving care. Our ward has recently moved into completely newly renovated premises with only single rooms, where we currently have twelve regular treatment beds. We also have a close collaboration with the geriatric psychiatry outpatient clinic located next door to our ward.

Job Responsibilities

On the ward, we work as an interdisciplinary team where you collaborate with other nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, social workers, occupational therapists, and medical secretaries. At our facility, everyone plays a vital role in patient care and contributes their unique expertise. As a nurse, you plan the patient's care, treat the patient, and participate in ward rounds. In daily work, some medical-technical tasks are also included.

We continuously work to improve care within our operations. Through customer service training, lectures on specific medical conditions, and basic training for new employees, you will gain a knowledge base to provide our patients with good and safe care. On Ward 54, we also work based on Safewards, a method to create safety for patients in inpatient care. As a nurse, together with your colleagues, you are an important part of driving this work forward.

To help you settle into the role as well as possible, we offer an introduction adapted to your competence and experience. We also value competence development and therefore offer continuous training, both internally and externally.

The position involves day and evening shifts. We also offer a preferred schedule, which means you have great opportunities to influence your own working hours.

Qualifications

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with the eligibility to work in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are a requirement. If you have specialist training in psychiatry, it is considered an advantage for the position. Previous experience working in psychiatry is also beneficial. We also welcome recent graduates who are interested in our target group.
