Job Responsibilities

Your duties as a Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (BMLS) with us involve independent work and close collaboration with nurses and cardiologists/pulmonologists. You will independently perform echocardiography, as well as attach/remove, review, and edit long-term ECGs. This also includes tasks such as pulmonary function tests, 6-minute walk tests, blood sampling, ECG, pulse oximetry (SpO2), FeNO, and arterial blood gas analysis.

Patient booking, invitations, and some scheduling are also part of the role.

You will have access to equipment such as Jaeger and Vyntus with the Sentury suite. You will also use modern equipment for echocardiography (GE Vivid 9), long-term ECG (Eclipse Spacelab and Zenicor), and exercise ECG (Cardiolex).

As a BMLS, you are a natural link in the patient care collaboration, both regarding the doctor's clinic and the nurse's clinic.

About the Workplace

The Medicine Clinic is divided into several sections, including the Allergy Clinic, Diabetes/Endocrinology Clinic, Cardiology Clinic, Pulmonology Clinic, Neurology Clinic, and a day care unit. We are a specialist clinic receiving referrals from primary care, primarily from northern Halland, but also from other hospitals in Region Halland and Sahlgrenska University Hospital (SU) in Västra Götaland.

We conduct investigations and examinations within cardiology and pulmonology. At the Cardiology Clinic, we perform investigations and treatments for most cardiovascular diseases, such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, heart arrhythmias, valve defects, difficult-to-treat hypertension, pacemaker checks, and ICD checks.

The patient groups we primarily investigate and treat at the Pulmonology Clinic are: COPD, interstitial lung diseases (where idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis is the largest subgroup), pulmonary sarcoidosis, and bronchiectasis problems of various origins. A smaller portion involves dyspnea investigations.

You will have two additional colleagues on the clinic working with similar responsibilities. We work in teams where doctors, BMLS, nurses, and secretaries collaborate to ensure well-performed examinations. Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed Biomedical Laboratory Scientist (BMLS) with a specialization in Clinical Physiology. We would prefer that you can independently perform echocardiography or pulmonary function tests/tests (static and dynamic spirometry, CO-diffusion, MIP, MEP, etc.) from the start.

You have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both in speech and writing. You should also have good command of English in speech and writing. Very good computer skills are required.

As a person, you are positive towards development and change, you are flexible, and have good collaboration skills. We assume that you have a high commitment to your work, follow up on results, and can work independently. We place great importance on personal suitability.
