About the Role

Do you have leadership experience and want to work with development and collaboration within one of the most important missions of the future? Apply for the position and help contribute to Sweden's fossil-free electricity supply!

We are now looking for a Unit Manager for the Active Waste Support Operations group at Ringhals.

About Us

Waste issues are receiving an increasingly high focus at Ringhals. There is now an opportunity to influence development. The work we currently perform regarding the handling of radioactive waste is significant not only today but for the next 100,000 years. Now you have the opportunity to help create a safe and fossil-free future for coming generations.

About the Job

As the manager of Active Waste Support Operations, you lead the daily work in the group that handles Ringhals' low- and intermediate-level nuclear waste. The unit is responsible for ensuring that the waste is handled in a safe, traceable, and regulated manner – from receipt to the point where the waste can leave the facility.

In practice, the work involves planning and securing the flow for the receipt, sorting, and treatment of waste, ensuring correct packaging and labeling, monitoring documentation and reporting according to regulatory requirements, and coordinating the radiological decontamination of waste, components, and tools.

The operations are continuously developed to meet the needs related to the dismantling and decommissioning of Ringhals 1 and 2, while ensuring continued safe and stable operation at Ringhals 3 and 4. You will become a key person in driving improvements in working methods, safety culture, and collaboration – together with other functions at Ringhals.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead, plan, and monitor the daily work in the group (prioritization, staffing, resource allocation, and delivery).
  • Set goals together with the team and ensure follow-up on results, deviations, and improvement measures.
  • Ensure that work is carried out according to current requirements, routines, and permits – with a focus on quality, safety, and radiation protection.
  • Support and develop employees through clear communication, coaching, and competence planning.
  • Drive and contribute to continuous improvements in working methods, flows, and collaboration within and outside the unit.
  • Collaborate closely with other functions at Ringhals.

The assignment is varied, and you have a daily routine close to both employees and colleagues in an operation characterized by high demands, clear processes, and continuous development.

Requirements

About You

As a leader, you create security and clarity through an open and trust-based working style. You are receptive, present, and provide direction without micromanaging, and you build engagement through dialogue, feedback, and trust in the team's competence. You thrive in collaboration and see cross-organizational collaboration as a natural part of the assignment.

As a person, you are analytical, structured, and stable in your leadership. You have the ability to drive development and implement change, create a holistic perspective, and make well-balanced decisions in complex matters.

We would like you to have

  • Relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience in leadership (e.g., as a manager, team leader, or in another leading role).
  • Good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on work against goals.
  • Very good collaboration and communication skills.
  • Good Swedish and English skills in speech and writing.
