About the role
We are now looking for a biomedical analyst with specialist responsibilities for the hematology section in Varberg.
The assignment as a specialist-BMA means that you have specific responsibilities within the section and are expected, among other things, to:
- Be responsible for daily operations and ensure that current job descriptions are available
- Mentor and examine colleagues and ensure that routines for supervision and competence are up to date
- Participate in county-wide operational and coordination meetings
- Participate in the development of methods and the commissioning of instruments
- Encourage and develop proposals for improvements and stimulate competence development
The work also involves collaboration with county-wide process leaders for hematology and other colleagues in various professional categories, as well as maintaining good dialogue with other actors within Region Halland. As a specialist-BMA, you have great opportunities to influence the section's operations together with the process leader and to develop in your professional role.
You will work both days, evenings, and weekends.
About the workplace
Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine in Varberg is a well-equipped and dynamic department where we offer a broad range of analyses and work with continuous development of quality and methodology. Here, we have strong cohesion, short decision-making paths, and high job satisfaction. The operations are conducted according to the ISO 15189 standard for medical laboratories.
Clinical Chemistry and Transfusion Medicine Halland is part of Medical Diagnostics Halland, which belongs to the administration ADH, Ambulance, Diagnostics, and Health. We have operations at the hospitals in Halmstad, Varberg, Kungsbacka, and Falkenberg. We have approximately 150 employees in Halland, and in Varberg, just over 50 people work. The largest personnel category is biomedical analysts, but you will also have laboratory assistants, nurses, assistant nurses, administrative staff, hospital chemists, and doctors as colleagues. The operations are open 24/7.
Our operations are in constant development, and we are an accredited operation, which places high demands on competence, documentation, and quality systems.
About you
We are looking for you who are a licensed biomedical analyst with a university degree in biomedical laboratory science, or alternatively, a licensed biomedical analyst with a laboratory assistant degree with experience as a biomedical analyst for >3 years combined with documented knowledge in the current specialist area. We also see that you, as an applicant, have good cooperation skills, are structured, and quality-conscious. Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement.
