About the position

You will work as an occupational therapist in rehabilitation medicine, where you are one of several professions in an interdisciplinary team.

We offer specialized, team-based rehabilitation for adults of working age who, due to illness or injury, have significant difficulties participating in social life, family, leisure activities, and work. The overall goal of the rehabilitation is to learn to live in a changed life situation and to function in the best possible way in society. We work in teams with the patient at the center.

The team consists of an occupational therapist, physiotherapist, counselor, speech therapist, doctor, medical secretary, psychologist, rehabilitation assistant, rehabilitation coach, nurse, and assistant nurse. It is the team together with the patient and relatives that formulates the goals for the rehabilitation.

Approximately 280 employees currently work at the Rehabilitation Clinic in Halland. Here you will find occupational therapists, dietitians, counselors, speech therapists, psychologists, physiotherapists, and assistant nurses. Our inpatient care is conducted on Ward 51, and the most common diagnoses are stroke, brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries. The clinic also includes all paramedical staff at Halland Hospital in Halmstad, Varberg, and Kungsbacka.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed occupational therapist with an interest in rehabilitation medicine or neurology. Professional experience in these areas is highly meritorious. Previous experience with team-based rehabilitation is positive, as are clinical skills in dealing with people with large and varied rehabilitation needs.

As a person, we are looking for you who are confident in yourself and in your professional role. You are interested in development and believe it is important to stay updated within the profession and in rehabilitation medicine. You are calm and stable and have the ability to understand the patient's complex life situation. Since we work in teams, good cooperation skills and the ability to share professional knowledge within the team are important. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
