Valsätraskolan has classes from preschool class to grade 9. During the academic year 2025/2026, just over nine hundred students attend the school, distributed across two units; Valsätraskolan (Pre-K-2, 6-9) and Lilla Valsätraskolan (3-5). We are a large, multifaceted school with dedicated staff and a strong desire to develop. Here, there is both competence, drive, and genuine commitment to the students' best interests.

Description of duties

With us, you will have a strategic and development-oriented assignment where you work at the individual, group, and organizational levels with a focus on grades 7–9. You are a driving force in the school's development work and contribute by analyzing and further developing work regarding problematic absenteeism, low results, and student well-being. In this role, you mentor teachers and work teams in special educational needs issues and actively work to create accessible and inclusive learning environments.

You also support the work with students in need of support, with a particular focus on ADHD/Autism spectrum disorders (NPF) and mental health, and participate in assessments, analyses, and measures at a comprehensive level. As a natural part of your assignment, you are included in the school's student health team. Through your work, you help the organization understand the causes of difficulties and contribute to developing teaching, structure, and organization so that more students are given the prerequisites for success. Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree in special education and experience in school development. You also have previous experience of teaching and mentoring colleagues in grades 7-9. In your role, you take initiative and launch activities that lead to good results. You take responsibility for your task and structure your own working method, as well as drive your processes. In change, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and can quickly change your perspective and approach.

You collaborate well with others and relate to your surroundings in a listening and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively. In your work, you see the big picture and take the larger perspective into account. You understand your role, but always consider the best interests of the entire operation in actions and decisions.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.

In your application, you must state your citizenship. Employment can only take place after verification of the work permit, which is required according to the Aliens Ordinance.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being placed on the war establishment.

Salary form: Monthly salary.
Employment type: Permanent position.
