About the role

As a Test Specialist, you will become a key member of an agile team focused on development and requirements methodology, integrations, tools, quality assurance, and release processes. The role involves broad responsibilities where you both lead and execute testing processes, work closely with developers, and define strategies and “best practices” within testing and application controls. Our systems are primarily based on legacy technology, with a special focus on AS400/iSeries platforms and RPG-developed applications. You will also become an expert in our test framework and ensure that our test environments are continuously developed.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead, design, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for AS400/iSeries applications.
• Test legacy customized applications developed in RPG, RPGLE, CL, and their integrations with DB2/400.
• Automate and maintain regression test cases and create prerequisites for test automation.
• Conduct system, integration, and regression tests as well as application controls.
• Maintain the test framework and deliver test data.
• Optimize and develop the test environment.
• Participate in and support the team’s quality and release work.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, developers, and the business.

You will be successful in this role if you have:

• At least 10 years of experience in software testing and test automation, particularly on AS400/iSeries platforms.
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
• In-depth knowledge of RPG/400, RPGLE, and CLP for test analysis and validation.
• Very good knowledge of DB2/400 and complex SQL queries.
• Thorough understanding of batch processing and job scheduling on AS400.
• Experience testing green-screen/terminal-based applications (e.g., Rumba, IBM i Access Client Solutions).
• Experience with integration testing between AS400 and external systems.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of agile methods such as Lean, Scrum, and SAFe, as well as the Java programming language.
• Experience with test data generation tools.
• Many years of experience in the insurance industry, particularly in property and casualty insurance.

Additional qualifications:

• Deeper experience in the development and quality assurance of legacy systems.
• Experience with complex IT environments and optimization of test strategies.
• Good technical understanding of integration and information flows between platforms.
