Generic is now looking for a Technical Operations Lead who wants to combine technical leadership with operational work and play a key role in the continued development of Generic's platform. You are responsible for creating direction, structure, and momentum in the team's work, while also being active in the daily operations and development of the platform.

About the Role

As a Technical Operations Lead, you will have a central role in Generic's technical development. You are responsible for creating structure, prioritization, and momentum in the operations and platform team's work in Luleå, while working operationally close to the technology yourself.

The role involves technical leadership where you act as a unifying force in the team and drive the long-term development of Generic's platform together with the CTO and colleagues.

You will be responsible for:

• Leading and prioritizing the daily work of the team, which currently consists of two people.
• Ensuring stable operations and incident readiness in existing environments.
• Working operationally with troubleshooting, configuration, and improvement work.
• Prioritizing between incidents, technical debt, and change initiatives.
• Collaborating closely with the CTO and platform engineers regarding the platform's continued modernization and development.
• Contributing to technical decisions and the development of the future platform.
• Identifying and eliminating manual tasks and inefficient workflows.
• Participating in major incidents, risk assessments, and follow-ups.
• Contributing to knowledge sharing and the development of the team's working methods.

About You

We are looking for someone with experience combining technical work with technical or operational leadership, and who thrives in a role where you take responsibility, create direction, and remain close to the business operations.

Relevant Background

• Several years of experience in operations and operations in business-critical environments.
• Robust technical understanding of Linux, networking, and infrastructure.
• Experience leading teams, projects, or technical initiatives – formally or informally.
• Proficiency in incident management and prioritization in business-critical environments.
• Ability to communicate fluently in Swedish and English.

It is an advantage if you have experience with:

• Kubernetes or other container platforms.
• VMware or other virtualization solutions.
• Infrastructure as Code and automation.
• CI/CD and modern practices within platform development.
• Modernization or migration of legacy environments.
• Telecom, CPaaS, or other environments with high availability requirements.

You do not need to have taken exactly this path before. The most important thing is that you have experience creating structure, prioritizing work, and driving technical initiatives in operations-close environments, and are motivated by developing both the team and the technology.
