Norrbotten Air Wing F 21 is looking for an employee for the position of Deputy Signals Security Officer to A6, the wing staff's department for communications and information systems services. The need to exchange information is increasing in line with technological and methodological development. The security policy development places increasingly high demands on efficient, accessible, and user-friendly solutions to ensure that actors within the total defense have access to the right information at the right time – even when information security requirements are high. Job Description

Signals security services are activities aimed at preventing unauthorized access to or influence over our communication systems, as well as the use of cryptographic functions in IT systems. You will work together with the wing's other signals security personnel to achieve the function's objectives.

Primary tasks include formalizing procedures and ensuring they are followed, applicable to both NATO signals security systems and national ones. Additionally, the focus will be on planning and conducting exercises both nationally and internationally, providing training, and over time administering the management of cryptographic keys, certificates, and cryptographic material. To understand how cryptographic functions contribute to protecting our information, technical curiosity is required to put different systems into context.

The work involves extensive contact with the wing's and Luleå Garrison's various operations, where a good understanding and knowledge of operational needs is a success factor in meeting requested requirements. You need to be someone who enjoys providing good service, sometimes under short notice. The operations can occasionally be intensive, meaning you must be able to handle a high workload and enjoy working in a team.

You will undergo local and central training to obtain the authorizations required to independently work with various systems, administration, and in the role of an instructor. The job involves recurring responsibility for training users to varying degrees, so you must feel comfortable and enjoy training others.

Signals security naturally involves a significant amount of administration to ensure correct handling. Therefore, you need to be able to handle the Office package and possess good knowledge of Word and Excel. The tasks cover both Swedish and international cryptographic systems, requiring good knowledge of English.

As an employee of the Swedish Armed Forces, physical training is included as one of your duties.

Qualifications

  • Good IT skills or other relevant knowledge for the role
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing
  • Category B driver's license

Merits

We see that you are pedagogical with good communication skills, as the position involves both instructor duties and collaboration with many different contact areas within the Armed Forces. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Permanent employment starting with a 6-month probation period.

Employment type: The position is a civilian employment.

Start date: As soon as possible after agreement.

Work location: Luleå.

The position requires continuous training, further education, and other activities involving travel outside the duty station. Employment entails the obligation to participate in training, exercises, and missions, both domestically and internationally. The position is part of the wing's wartime unit with the task of establishing an airbase both nationally and internationally under field conditions.
