About the Unit
The Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS) has the main task of managing the operation and maintenance of command and control support systems at all levels of readiness, both nationally and internationally. The unit you will belong to is managed from Örebro, but the work is located in Luleå or Boden.
Main Responsibilities
The role of Systems Engineer involves a varied workload that includes, among other things, monitoring and operating various technical systems and networks. Through monitoring, incoming fault reports, and troubleshooting, the necessary actions are analyzed and determined.
You will also work with installation, configuration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of equipment and systems within one or more areas.
The position involves continuous learning of new technologies and products, including through internal and external training. This also provides employees with ample opportunities for further development within the Swedish Armed Forces.
Travel and work at other locations occur and are generally planned in advance.

Qualifications
Requirements
- At least upper secondary education with an IT or electrical focus, or other education and/or experience that we assess as equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of hardware and peripheral equipment.
- Valid driver's license for passenger cars.
- Swedish citizenship.
- Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
- Good physical fitness.
Merits
It is an advantage if you have work experience in the operational monitoring of technical systems. Other valuable experience could include working as a field technician, commissioning engineer, or installer.
We would also appreciate if you have one or more of the following merit-based skills:
- Knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces' cryptographic solutions.
- Knowledge of Swedish Armed Forces' IT systems.
- Knowledge of FTN (Swedish Armed Forces Telecommunications Network).
- Documentation experience.
- Current and relevant experience in networking/communication, patching, switches, and TCP/IP.
- Experience from service within the Swedish Armed Forces (e.g., previously employed as CIV, GSS, K, etc.).
- Military basic training or conscription service.
- Previous service in a government agency.

Other Information
The position is a permanent employment as a civilian employee and begins with a 6-month probationary period for those not already employed by the Swedish Armed Forces.
The location is Luleå or Boden. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
