We are looking for two nursing assistants for a 1-year temporary position at Svartbäcksgården's short-term care facility. The facility serves patients with temporary care and support needs, for example, in connection with mobilization and recovery after hospital stays, or assessment of further care measures. We are located centrally in Uppsala, close to beautiful walking paths along the Fyrisån river. Working hours include days, evenings, and every other weekend.

Description of duties

With us, you will have a varied and developing job where no two days are alike. You will encounter patients at various stages, including rehabilitation, recovery, as well as some psychiatric and palliative care, giving you a broad role. You combine nursing care with delegated health and medical tasks and are part of the patient's care team.

The work and tasks are varied, involving both planned interventions and situations requiring flexibility, initiative, and collaboration. See below:

• Provide basic nursing care, such as personal hygiene, meal support, and mobility assistance.
• Support the patient's independence and monitor changes in health status.
• Perform delegated tasks and participate in rehabilitative measures.
• Take and document vital parameters when necessary.
• Document in Lifecare according to current routines.
• Participate in reports and implementation plans.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position:

• Trained nursing assistant with proof of protected professional title from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen).
• Experience with documentation in medical record systems.
• You must be able to communicate fluently and independently in Swedish, both orally and in writing. This is a requirement to ensure patient safety and correct documentation in the work.

Merits for the position:

• Delegation in areas such as medication, tube feeding, and tracheostomy.
• Experience with rehabilitative working methods.
• Experience working with the elderly in hospital care, for example, in medicine, geriatrics, or stroke units.

We are looking for someone who is secure, stable, and has good self-insight. You can distinguish between personal and professional matters and adapt your approach to the situation. You are flexible and adapt easily to changing circumstances, see opportunities in change, and can quickly adjust when necessary.

You have good collaboration skills, work smoothly with others, and are receptive in your communication. You listen, contribute to good cooperation, and handle potential conflicts constructively. We also value that you have empathetic abilities and can put yourself in other people's situations with respect and care.

As of July 1, 2023, "nursing assistant" is a protected professional title. To use the title nursing assistant, you must provide proof from the National Board of Health and Welfare or a certificate stating that you were employed as a nursing assistant on a permanent basis on July 1, 2023.

Employment with Uppsala Municipality may involve being assigned to a wartime position (krigsplacering).

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
