The Duty and Assessment Authority is establishing itself in Umeå! Do you want to be part of it from the start?
We are now looking for two admission case officers for the admission unit in Umeå. The office will open in autumn 2026 and will be centrally located in newly renovated premises next to the Ume River. When staffing is complete, there will be around 60 colleagues in Umeå working together to achieve common goals. Today, corresponding assessment activities exist in Stockholm, Malmö, and Gothenburg, and the authority's management is based in Karlstad.
Our admission case officers are part of an assessment chain where we make administrative decisions regarding admission to basic training with national and civil service obligations. The decisions cover both those who have been called up for assessment and those who have applied themselves to be assessed.
Your responsibilities
In the role of admission case officer, you meet young adults to guide them in conversations about their possibilities to undergo basic training based on the position requirements of the Swedish Armed Forces and other authorities. As a case officer, you make independent decisions regarding training places and investigate cases concerning those subject to total defense liability. You will serve as a contact person for one or more units that train the soldiers and sailors whom you and your future colleagues have made decisions about. As a contact person, your duties include visiting units and participating in the implementation of extended assessments.
In addition to those undergoing assessment, you will also work with individuals undergoing assessment for other assignments.
Your workplace is at the assessment unit in Umeå within the admission unit. Corresponding units also exist in Stockholm, Malmö, and Gothenburg, and these units belong to the admission unit located in Karlstad.
We have a collegial atmosphere and great loyalty towards our employees within the production management and the entire authority. To foster unity, rotational service with your colleagues at the four other locations occasionally takes place.
Your qualifications
You are or have been employed as a professional officer or specialist officer with good, current knowledge of the Swedish Armed Forces' areas of work and regulations.
It is an advantage if you have trained soldiers or worked with staffing issues within the Swedish Armed Forces and have knowledge of the duties of various positions.
Your personal qualities
For this role, it is required that you are receptive and have an easy time communicating with people from different backgrounds, with different experiences and perspectives. You enjoy collaborating but also take responsibility for planning and structuring your own work.
About the employment
As an officer, you retain your employment with the Swedish Armed Forces during the time you are employed by the Duty and Assessment Authority under the scheme known as "Professional Officer at Another Authority" (YAM). We offer a fixed-term employment of up to three years, which can be extended for an additional three-year period.
If you no longer have an employment as an officer in the Swedish Armed Forces, you are offered a permanent position within the Duty and Assessment Authority, starting with a six-month probationary period.
Due to the nature of the operations, you cannot work from home, but we hope this will instead contribute to a clearer division between work and leisure. You have the opportunity to exercise during working hours and are offered a favorable wellness allowance. We also offer parental benefit supplements and up to 35 days of vacation depending on age.
The position is security-classified, and we therefore conduct a security investigation with register control according to the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Swedish citizenship is required in some cases.
Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
We welcome applicants with different backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to reflect the society in which we operate. We look forward to receiving your application!
To apply to us, you do not need to write a cover letter. Instead, we have chosen to focus on selection questions and your CV for a value-free recruitment process.
