We are now looking for one or more case processors for positions at the General Division of Umeå District Court and the Rental and Lease Board in Umeå.

About the position

Umeå District Court, together with the Rental and Lease Board in Umeå, has approximately 85 employees and is a general lower court as well as one of five district courts in the country that also serves as a Land and Environment Court. The General Division of the District Court is administratively coordinated with the Rental and Lease Board in Umeå, which is one of eight such boards in the country.

The Rental Board mediates disputes concerning housing and premises and makes decisions in matters under, among other things, the Rent Act. The Lease Board mediates and makes certain decisions in disputes between landowners and tenants. The jurisdiction of the Rental and Lease Board covers the entire counties of Västerbotten and Norrbotten.

The General Division of the District Court handles criminal cases, civil cases, court matters, and bankruptcies. The jurisdiction of the General Division covers parts of Västerbotten County; Bjurholm, Nordmaling, Robertsfors, Umeå, Vindeln, and Vännäs.

The Land and Environment Court handles, as a first instance, matters regarding permits for environmentally hazardous activities and water operations, as well as reviewing decisions under, among other things, the Environmental Code, the Land Formation Act, and the Planning and Building Act. The jurisdiction of the Land and Environment Court covers the entire county of Norrbotten, the majority of Västerbotten County, and a smaller part of Västernorrland County.

Responsibilities

The tasks for a case processor are numerous and varied. You handle different types of cases and have significant individual responsibility. In collaboration with your colleagues, you ensure that the preparatory and follow-up work in various cases is carried out in an impartial and efficient manner. The work involves extensive contact with both parties in cases and matters and with the general public. You are expected to be able to work in all case divisions and, if necessary, in the administrative division.

You will book and call for meetings, hearings, and assemblies. You manage correspondence in cases and matters, draft proposals for judgments and decisions, and dispatch them. You handle incoming documents, monitor deadlines, and take minutes during hearings and assemblies. You contribute to ensuring that everyone who comes into contact with the court and the boards receives good service and a positive attitude.

Your Profile

You find it easy to collaborate and can work independently and in a team. You are responsible, have a high sense of service, and can handle stressful situations. You are accustomed to working in various IT systems and have a good ability to express yourself both verbally and in writing.

You are meticulous, flexible, and take initiative.

You have at least a high school education and have a few years of professional experience in administrative work. Experience in public sector work is an advantage. We will place great emphasis on personal qualities.
