The Department of Work and Welfare consists of Individual and Family Care, Support, Service and Housing, and Education, Income and Prevention. In total, we have approximately 300 employees who work salutogenically and solution-oriented, with a knowledge base in methods grounded in science.

Location

The Individual and Family Care in Sölvesborg currently consists of six units; Investigation and Follow-up Children and Young People, Placement Unit, Income Unit, Adult Unit, Investigation SoL/LSS, and the Child and Youth Unit.

The current position as a social worker is a fixed-term contract and will be part of Investigation and Follow-up Children and Young People, which with you will consist of five social workers, two youth secretaries, and one unit manager.

The transition to the new Social Services Act is ongoing. We are investing, among other things, in crime prevention work and strengthening with youth secretaries in our team, who will be part of a newly started youth team. Additionally, there is an investment in strengthening the children's rights perspective, increasing our accessibility, and offering interventions without needs assessment. For help with more complex cases, we have the Home Plan Team, which can work with both mapping and intensive family treatment at home, to protect children and prevent placement.

You will have access to close supervision and engaged colleagues. Job Description

As a social worker in our investigation team, you will, together with your colleagues, handle cases according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Law on Care of Young Persons (LVU) concerning children and young people.

The tasks include receiving reports of concern and making protective and preliminary assessments. The work involves investigating children's needs according to BBIC, assessing and deciding on interventions, as well as following up on approved interventions such as open care, contact families, and contact persons.

You will have close cooperation with other social workers within the unit as well as with our open care, but also with external partners. You will receive support from colleagues and your nearest manager.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a social worker (sociologist). Previous experience of authority exercise within social services for children and young people is meritorious.

In your professional role, empathy, sensitivity, and creativity in the meeting with the people we work for are important. As a social worker, it is important that you contribute to a good experience of social services, without overlooking the needs of children and young people. Good communication and lack of hierarchy are significant for us to succeed together in our mission.

To perform the work, a willingness and ability to cooperate with both colleagues and the business's partners is required, as well as the ability to analyze, assess, make legally secure decisions, and express oneself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Employment Form and Terms

Employment Form: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: Start 2026-08-17 or according to agreement. Fixed-term contract until 2028-12-31.
