We are a cheerful group that is flexible, open-minded, self-initiating, creative, and has great camaraderie and teamwork. We have worked together for several years, and now we are looking for another person to join our wonderful team who wants to be part of our journey and create a meaningful leisure time for our children and young people.

Our target group is children and young people attending lower secondary school, upper secondary school, and high school.

The work is scheduled during the day, evening, and weekends, and you will work both independently and in groups.

The position is 100% and is a fixed-term contract until February 21, 2027.

Växtverket focuses heavily on collaboration with various actors such as the police, social services, schools, and associations. We collaborate on crime prevention, promotion work, and safety issues.

Other areas we work with include the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, gender equality, and diversity.

We work according to the municipality's values and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Work in open operations, mobile units, schools, and holiday activities.
  • We are located at four different lower secondary schools, one upper secondary school, four different youth club branches, and at Växtverket.
  • We apply a culture of responsibility.
  • Jointly create relationships, engagement, and motivation. A central part of the assignment is to pay attention to and utilize the target group's interests, ideas, and thoughts.
  • Plan, organize, and implement a varied range of activities and events for the visitors. We place great emphasis on good treatment and patience, as well as ample opportunities to dare to think new thoughts.
  • All employees have their areas of responsibility. Here you have the opportunity to create your own areas of responsibility based on your interests and knowledge.
  • Work from a promoting and salutogenic approach by, among other things, offering activities that promote participation, physical activity, and joy. The work also includes catching early signs of ill health.

Qualifications

To succeed in the role of youth leader, it is a requirement that you have relevant upper secondary education and post-secondary education. You have experience working with the target groups of upper secondary school and high school.

As a person, we see that you are self-initiating, good at relationship building, flexible, proactive, creative, and skilled at structuring your work. You can communicate well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.

You have a good ability to collaborate and have a good attitude towards colleagues and others you meet in your daily work. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

A class B driver's license is required for the position.

Merits

It is an advantage if you:

  • Are educated as a youth leader, youth pedagogue, public health pedagogue, social pedagogue, or teacher
  • Have experience in promoting work
  • Have experience in conflict management
  • Have experience in dance, music, outdoor life, or sports
  • Have experience in association life
  • Have experience working with LGBTQI+ issues
  • Are handy
  • Experience working with the target group of upper secondary school and high school
