Uppsala Vocational High School Jälla is a high school offering the Construction and Civil Engineering programme, Electrical and Energy programme, Plumbing and Property programme, Natural Resource programme, Vehicle and Transport programme, as well as the Introduction programme. Additionally, special needs education and adult education are available on the school grounds. On the Vehicle and Transport programme, all staff collaborate to ensure that every student receives the education required by the industry. We work together and drive development forward. The school has well-equipped facilities and good partnerships with the regional industry.

As an instructor, you hold what is known as a "leave-period position" (uppehållstjänst), meaning you have holidays during the Christmas and summer breaks, but you work the rest of the year, typically 40 hours per week.

Description of Duties

As an instructor specializing in transport within the Vehicle and Transport programme, the job involves practical driving training with students for categories B, C, and CE, as well as forklift training. Some theoretical teaching may also be included. You will also assist with arranging Practice Learning Periods (APL) and manage the vehicles. You are part of a team working with approximately 50 students in year 2 and year 3.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who holds a B, C/CE driver's license and a valid Certificate of Professional Competence (YKB). You need to have experience and familiarity with the transport industry in the local area.

It is an advantage if you:

• Are a trained traffic teacher
• Are a forklift instructor
• Are trained in working on the road
• Are an ADR trainer
• Have experience in pedagogical work

Furthermore, you take responsibility for your tasks and structure your own approach. You drive your processes forward. You work well with other people, relating to them in a listening and flexible manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively.

You have a good understanding of how people acquire knowledge and of people's different prerequisites, while adapting your method of conveying your message to the recipient. Finally, you make correct assessments and prioritizations. You weigh together complex information and different types of considerations, showing judgment in statements, actions, and decisions.

Uppsala Municipality applies individual and differentiated salary setting according to the current collective agreement.
