The Urology business area (VO) includes two inpatient wards and a clinic in Malmö. Here we treat patients with diseases of the urinary tract. Our care covers both benign and malignant conditions for all ages from 18 years old. Our surgical activities range from minor procedures at the clinic to major pelvic surgery. Many patients require recurring care and check-ups, which provides good patient contact and continuity of care.

The clinic features contact nurses specializing in prostate, bladder, kidney, penile, and testicular cancer. The Urotherapy Clinic is part of the Urology Clinic and is integrated into the Pelvic Floor Centre at Skåne University Hospital. There is also a team of nurses who, among other things, manage shockwave therapy for kidney stones (ESVL). At our workplace, we work according to Region Skåne's Competence and Service Model, which provides a clear structure for your learning and career opportunities within our operations.

At Skåne University Hospital, we have alternating duty schedules for nurses and assistant nurses to meet future competence needs, increase readiness, and create more sustainable staffing. By having employees rotate between inpatient and outpatient care, competence, resource efficiency, and continuity are strengthened, while the work environment is improved through a more balanced weekend workload.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are currently seeking two contact nurses for two of our teams: the Bladder Team and the Prostate Team.

As a contact nurse in the Bladder Team, you work independently with your own responsibilities, supported by the interprofessional team, with the patient with urothelial cancer as the focus. A workday may include participation in new patient visits, running your own clinic for instillation treatments and follow-ups. You will have daily contact with patients via phone and 1177 for advice and support. You assist at medical clinics and, prior to major surgery, you meet with the patient and their relatives together with the physician. Our contact nurses also run their own cystoscopy clinic where they monitor patients with bladder cancer.

As a contact nurse in the Prostate Team, you have an independent and varied role, with good cooperation and support between the professions. The work includes participating in doctor visits for diagnosis notifications and treatment decisions, patient follow-ups, running your own clinic, and telephone advice. The work is independent, developmental, and the team is characterized by good cooperation.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the right to practice in Swedish healthcare. Proficiency in Swedish equivalent to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale is a requirement. The position also requires clinical experience within urological operations. You must have met the requirements for the independent phase/phase 2 in accordance with the Competence and Service Model.

It is meritorious to have:

• Education in urological nursing
• Courses or further training relevant to the specialty
• Experience in pre- and postoperative care
• Experience with IT systems such as Melior, Pasis, Orbit, Mina Planer, e-LAB, digital Min vårdplan, 1177, and SESAM.
