The Leisure Department consists of two swimming pools, local booking services, work with association grants, an ice hall, natural football pitches, two artificial turf pitches, sports halls, and our Destination Gotland Arena. We currently have just over 20 employees within the department.
Access to well-functioning sports facilities is crucial for the implementation of training sessions and matches. As a Facility Caretaker, you will meet club leaders and athletes who compete and train, children and young people who have just started their sports activities, as well as all other visitors to the sports venues.
The role involves providing all these customers and visitors with the best possible conditions, as well as good service and a welcoming attitude. This is achieved through excellent service and well-maintained facilities.
Your Responsibilities
The main tasks include the daily operation of our facilities, such as the Arena and the gymnastics halls. A significant part of the role also involves work at Visby Ice Hall and the maintenance of football pitches and artificial turf. Some maintenance of machinery, rental of sports equipment to clubs, cleaning and tidying of premises, as well as renting out accommodation in school classrooms, are also included.
Work during evenings and weekends is included.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have post-secondary education in ice care as well as plan and green area maintenance, or equivalent experience that the employer considers equivalent. Basic computer skills, machine proficiency, and a B-class driver's license are required for the position.
A B-class driver's license for a manual transmission vehicle is an advantage. We would appreciate if you have previous experience in green area maintenance as well as mechanical knowledge.
To succeed in the role, you are responsible, engaged, and safety-conscious. You are well-organized, see what needs to be done, and have an eye for detail. Furthermore, you contribute to good teamwork. Since you will work in an operation where a welcoming attitude is important, you enjoy meeting visitors in various contexts where information, referral, and other services are part of your duties. The job places high demands on flexibility and your ability to communicate with the users and customers of the facilities.
