Telecom Technician for Telia Field Operations – Team East (Gotland)

About Us

Telia Field Operations is Telia's own entrepreneurial business unit. Our primary task is to ensure that Telia's national security customers are always operational and can expand, even during crises and emergency preparedness periods. We work with mast and fiber construction, switching, network security work, field analyses, network investigations, migration work, and more. Our mandate also includes service, delivery, and fault resolution for the fixed and mobile networks.

Here, you will become part of a local team with skilled colleagues. We are present nationwide in Örebro, Trollhättan, Gothenburg, Sundsvall, Stockholm, Kalmar, Gotland, Luleå, and Skåne. We currently have approximately 50 employees, of whom 40 are technicians. We are now looking for a new employee for Gotland, where we currently have four employees.

Job Description

As a technician, you will have varied tasks. You will work on everything from splicing fiber and working in masts to custom installations for businesses and authorities, where active equipment and IP networks are a major part of the assignment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintenance, delivery, and fault resolution in fiber, mobile, and IP networks, as well as active equipment.
• Installation and service of the security-classified network and specialized equipment.
• Independently and collaboratively locating, measuring, and resolving outages, diversion, and contact faults in the network.

You will depart from home with a service vehicle and travel directly or via our work center to the service assignments assigned to you. You are responsible for independently checking and reporting on these assignments. The role involves flexible and mobile working days with extensive travel. Since you usually depart from home, work-life balance is easier to manage. The position includes on-call duties, and night work may occur.

Qualifications

• At least one year of experience as a technician in electricity, fiber, datacom/transmission/AXE, or mobile.
• Category B driver's license (Category BE is a plus).
• Good proficiency in Swedish and English.
• Good computer skills.
• You must not be colorblind or afraid of heights, as pole work may be involved.

Employment with us involves placement in a security class, which requires Swedish citizenship. Security clearance with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.

Merits

• Experience from transmission.
• Experience with Telia systems (SPAN/SPIV, ability to read UTS, etc.).
• Experience working with security protection requirements.
• Experience with IP-based services and Fiber Certification (CFT).
• Mast certified, preferably with experience in radio link/antenna service.
• Experience in field work within telecom or similar.
