About the position

Gotlandsbuss is looking for a mechanic with good competence in troubleshooting and diagnostics for our workshop in Visby. The position is a combined role where you will work practically with service and repairs as well as more advanced technical troubleshooting of our buses and vehicles.

We run the workshop in-house and are in a development phase where structure, quality, and technical knowledge are the focus. The role demands high technical competence, accuracy, and responsibility. We are looking for someone who wants to work in a business where quality, safety, and structure are decisive.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will work with:

• Service, maintenance, and repair of buses and other vehicles
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
• Advanced fault analysis and development of remedial proposals
• Preventive maintenance according to established intervals
• Preparations for vehicle inspections
• Documentation of performed work according to routines
• Reporting of deviations, deficiencies, and safety risks

The work is carried out both independently and in close collaboration with the workshop coordinator and colleagues in the workshop.

Qualifications

Requirements:

• Education in vehicle technology or equivalent experience
• Experience in troubleshooting and diagnostic work
• Good technical understanding of modern vehicle systems
• Class B driver's license

We prefer that you have experience working in a structured manner with troubleshooting and can handle several types of technical systems in parallel.

Meritorious qualifications:

• Experience working with heavy vehicles or buses
• Experience with glazing work (replacing windows and repairing stone chips)
• Knowledge of fire protection systems, e.g., Fogmaker, and relevant certificates (e.g., gas or fire safety certificates)
• Knowledge of electrical, steering, and diagnostic systems on vehicles
• Forklift license and/or experience operating wheel loaders
• Class D driver's license
• Experience working at sea as a repairman, preferably with several years of experience
