Ringelskolan is a primary school for grades 4-6, located within walking distance of Arvidsjaur's center. In total, there are approximately 200 students here, and we have about 30 employees. Each grade level has three classes, with the class teacher having primary responsibility. The class teacher teaches their own class but also teaches in other classes within the teaching team/grade level in one or more subjects, depending on qualifications and needs. In addition to class teachers, resource teachers, teachers in practical-aesthetic subjects, student assistants, and student health personnel work in the operation. Among us, there are teachers with long experience as well as newly graduated ones. What we all have in common is that our hearts beat for the students.

The school is located in a beautiful natural setting, thus inviting outdoor activities. Nearby, you will find a swimming hall, a sports hall, and an ice hall. Within walking distance, there is also a sports field that allows for athletics. Football fields and ski tracks are also available in the immediate vicinity.

Job Description

In the role of Special Educator, you work with students in grades 4-6 who need support in their language, reading, and writing development. As a Special Educator, you work actively with teaching and support students through individualized measures in the classroom, in small groups, and individually. You may also hold lessons for the whole class when necessary.

With security and commitment, you mentor and support colleagues and teaching teams, contributing your expertise regarding adaptations, teaching strategies, and learning environments. You keep up to date with current research in special education and share your theoretical knowledge and pedagogical competence. You observe, document, follow up, write action plans, and prepare pedagogical investigations of students' need for special support. Furthermore, you conduct and analyze screenings and other assessments.

The work takes place in close collaboration with Ringelskolan's special/resource team, teachers, school management, and the student health team. Together, you work across professions with remedial, promoting, and preventive measures based on the students' needs. You lead meetings with students and guardians to inform and discuss chosen measures and collaborate regarding the students' needs with other actors, both within and outside the school.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a degree as a Special Educator with a specialization in language, writing, and reading development. You must be able to collaborate, communicate, and build good relationships with students, guardians, colleagues, and school management. You are a secure and independent Special Educator who, with the support of your profession and special pedagogical competence, dares to act and make decisions. At the same time, you are flexible and solution-oriented and adapt easily to changed circumstances and the students' needs. With a good holistic view, you consider the broader perspective in actions and decisions, always with the best interests of the students and the operation in focus. You work based on set goals and support students in reaching them, while also having the ability to set, analyze, and evaluate goals. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Upon employment, you are required to present an extract from the criminal record register according to the Education Act (2010:800, Chapter 2, Section 31).

The position is a permanent employment starting in the autumn term of 2026. Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis. The position may therefore be filled before the application period has ended.
