The Employment and Education Administration has a joint responsibility for integration, labor market, education, and employment issues affecting our municipality's residents. The administration is also responsible for the Culture School and food supply, as well as fulfilling tasks for the medical and psychological parts of student health services in municipal preschool classes, primary schools, adapted primary schools, upper secondary schools, and adapted upper secondary schools.

Björknäs Upper Secondary School is also an authorized IB school (International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme). We are accredited within Erasmus+ and are active in numerous international projects, and we have NIU (National Sports Education) in handball and biathlon in many of our programs.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an employee who wants to contribute to developing the construction and civil engineering program with a focus on earthworks and infrastructure. We are looking for you who are ready to take great responsibility and participate in pedagogical development. You will teach both theoretically and during practical exercises at the upper secondary level. You will supervise students and contribute to the pedagogical development work at the school. To thrive in the job, it is important that you enjoy creating contacts and maintaining relationships, and that you actively work in line with the school's values and collaborate with the school's other staff.

You are passionate about student development and educating for the industry's needs. You stay updated with current research and dare to think new thoughts. You collaborate easily and are open to receiving feedback from both colleagues and management to improve your work. You see the benefits of working with alternative and digital tools and have knowledge of the governing documents that regulate the school's work. As a teacher, you work inclusively, have great engagement and interest in young people and their development. You give students a democratic and ethical way of thinking. It is also important to be able to plan, organize, and prioritize work effectively and set and adhere to timeframes. To help students with special needs, you need to be calm, stable, and composed in pressured situations. QUALIFICATIONS

• You are an experienced civil engineer/machine operator with a focus on construction machinery and have extensive technical and practical knowledge.
• You will teach both theoretically and practically with wheel loaders and excavators.
• If you are a licensed teacher in the aforementioned courses, it is an advantage; otherwise, we would like you to consider further training to become a vocational teacher.
• Advantageous if you have professional certificates, experience within railways, and BE and C driving licenses.

Great importance will be attached to personal suitability.

Employment type: Fixed-term employment. Duration: 6 months or longer, Start date: Start date as agreed.

Please attach teacher certification or degree certificate. Extract from the criminal record must be presented before employment in preschool and primary school.
