Increased learning, equality, and meeting places – three important core values that permeate all work in Nässjö Municipality's schools. Nässjö is a medium-sized municipality with approximately 30,000 inhabitants located on the Småland highlands. To realize these values, the municipal council has adopted a strategic and long-term development plan for preschool and school in Nässjö Municipality.

About Brinell's Upper Secondary School
Brinell's Upper Secondary School is a grades 7–9 school that also includes adapted basic education. We have approximately 370 students at the school. Our school is characterized by diversity and inclusion, and we actively work on language development. Students from different cultures mix here, enriching the teaching and the school environment.
Safety, responsibility, and respect are the school's guiding words and permeate our entire operation. We believe that relationship-building work is the key to a good environment and successful academic results. We work focused on creating good relationships between colleagues, students, and guardians.
Responsibilities
The role of Youth Coach at Brinell's Upper Secondary School (grades 7–9) involves creating a safe, inclusive, and meaningful school environment that promotes students' social, personal, and academic development. Through relationship-building work, guidance, support, and participation, the Youth Coach strengthens students' self-esteem, motivation, and hope for the future.
The work is primarily conducted during students' free time, such as breaks and other social contexts at school, where the Youth Coach contributes to safety, community, and positive relationships. Through activities, conversations, and student influence, students are given the opportunity to develop responsibility, participation, and the ability to act in a democratic and multicultural society.
The role is based on the school's steering documents, guidelines, and policies. The role also includes actively contributing to the continued development of oneself, the grade level, and the operation.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming school environment.
- Contribute to the school's preventive and promoting work for safety and study peace.
- Build and maintain trusting relationships with students.
- Be a present adult during students' free time, such as during breaks and other social contexts.
- Be attuned to students' needs and actively participate in conversations and activities.
- Stimulate positive relationships, interaction, responsibility, and democratic values.
- Plan, implement, and develop activities that contribute to community, participation, and well-being.
- Encourage and support students' own initiatives, interests, and development.
- Strengthen students' self-esteem, motivation, and hope for the future.
- Pay attention to students' different needs and prerequisites and contribute to initiating appropriate support measures when needed.
- Collaborate with guardians, staff, student health services, and other relevant actors to create good conditions for students' development.
- Stay updated on relevant research, pedagogy, and school development.
Qualifications
Education
Relevant post-secondary education with a focus on working with children and youth, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent.
Other
- Swedish in speech and writing.
- Driver's license (Category B).
Experience
Experience working with children and youth, for example in schools, associations, leisure activities, or non-profit organizations, is meritorious. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
Employment Terms
The position is a fixed-term employment with the possibility of eventual permanent employment.
- Salary: Monthly salary.
- Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
- Duration: Start date 2026-08-13 or by agreement, ends 2027-06-18.
- Working hours: Daytime.
