Björkskatan School is centrally located in the Björkskatan district. For the 2025/26 school year, we have 390 students from grades 7 to 9. Experienced and dedicated teachers, educators, leaders, and professionals work here. At Björkskatan School, we believe in creating a good atmosphere together and building relationships among everyone at the school. We have a nice local area with a hockey rink, football field, and basketball court, as well as excellent indoor study environments with good lighting, air, and sound levels.

The school features, among other things, two learning studios where resource teachers and special education teachers/special needs teachers work with students to provide extra support. The teaching team collaborates with the local student health team, consisting of school leadership, resource teachers, special education teachers, counselors, student welfare advisors (SYV), and school nurses. We also have a well-functioning student council that provides good opportunities for student influence, creating engaged students who care about their school and education.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for a teacher to instruct in the subjects of mathematics, Natural Sciences (NO), and Technology. You will be part of a teaching team and collaborate closely with other teachers in the team and subject group. Mentoring, together with another teacher, is included in the position. Your duties include planning and conducting instruction, assessing students' performance, monitoring their developmental needs, and grading students.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have the qualifications and certification to teach mathematics, Natural Sciences (NO), and Technology at the lower secondary level. Experience and knowledge in language- and knowledge-developing work are meritorious, as are good skills in using digital tools as pedagogical aids and for communication in learning. You will play a key role in advancing this work.

It is crucial that you can contribute to the school's values-based work by having a democratic approach and being a good role model. You must be able to build good relationships with students and provide clear structure in your teaching to ensure a safe environment where students receive a good and accessible learning experience. Furthermore, you should be able to collaborate effectively with guardians as well as with other professionals inside and outside the school. You must be able to express yourself well both verbally and in writing.

If offered the position, you must provide a certified extract from the police register (criminal record check).
