Your Role

As a network technician, you will be part of the Cyber Operations department, specifically the Access Development Office. The office is responsible for, among other things, developing and delivering access and exploitation capabilities to the signals intelligence operations.

The department contributes to strengthening the protection against sophisticated IT attacks from abroad on vital societal functions in Sweden. By identifying and tracking the attackers behind these incidents and building knowledge about their methods and motives, we offer both technical solutions and advisory services to authorities and state-owned companies. In this way, we contribute to Sweden's cyber defense.

In the role of network technician, you will work broadly with both network technology and network security. Here, we believe in the strength of collaboration – together with your team, you will share knowledge, support each other, and be responsible for the operation, management, and further development of several separate networks.

The position involves physical work. Work during evenings and weekends, as well as travel, may occur.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who have:

• A high school diploma, or equivalent competence acquired through work experience
• Some experience working with Linux
• Experience with platforms other than Cisco
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
• A valid driver's license (Category B)

It is important to us that you are curious, humble, and driven to learn new things. It is also meritorious for the position if you have experience from one or more of the following areas:

• Vocational or university education with a focus on networking or relevant certifications.
• Experience and/or knowledge of network administration/configuration
• Experience with different brands of network equipment

The workplace is located near Drottningholm, approximately 10 minutes from Brommaplan. Swedish citizenship is a requirement as employment at FRA involves placement in a security class. Before employment, you will undergo a security clearance in accordance with the provisions of the Security Protection Act. Employment entails an obligation to be war-placed.
