Within our care services, we work to create a meaningful everyday life for children and young people with various disabilities. We support and encourage our users so that they can live as independent and rich a life as possible, with security, joy, and community as guiding stars.
We run several facilities for children and young people, including short-term accommodation, short-term supervision, youth housing, and housing with special support services for children.
We are now looking for support assistants for two children's homes in Visby.
For one of the homes, we are seeking a female employee based on the user's needs and privacy.
For the other home, we welcome both female and male applicants.
Your responsibilities
As an employee, you will become an important part of the children's everyday lives. You will work based on decisions under the LSS Act (Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments) and collaborate closely with other key people in the children's lives.
A typical workday may involve supporting with meals and morning routines, ensuring the children get to school, welcoming them when they return home, and providing care, such as hygiene and showering. You create and participate in activities that inspire, develop, and bring joy, serving as a secure role model and a stable presence.
Working hours vary, including days, evenings, sleeping nights, and weekends.

We are primarily looking for you who are a support assistant and have upper secondary education in care and nursing, child and youth activities, are trained as a social pedagogue and/or personal assistant, preferably with a focus on social work. It is also advantageous if you have experience with pedagogical working methods, challenging behavior, low-affective handling, sign communication, and visual support, as well as knowledge of the LSS Act, the Social Services Act, and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
We are looking for you who have a genuine commitment to working with children and young people and who see the unique needs of each child. You feel confident both working independently and together with colleagues, and contribute warmth, care, and stability to everyday life.
To thrive with us, we believe you are flexible, solution-focused, and have plenty of patience. You are secure in yourself and meet the children with a calm and professional attitude. Your positive and service-oriented approach means you readily find creative ways to plan and carry out activities that stimulate the children's development based on their needs and wishes.
