Our Operations

The Emergency Department at Akademiska Hospital receives approximately 55,000 visits annually. The department is open 24/7 and is tasked with providing specialized healthcare for acutely ill or injured patients. We work in teams and therefore value good cooperation and professional treatment of both patients and colleagues. Your Role

As a nurse at our Emergency Department, you will work with nursing care, assessment, prioritization, and treatment of acutely ill or injured patients. We work in teams with nursing assistants and doctors, where the nurse holds a team leader role. We handle cases across several medical specialties such as internal medicine, surgery, and orthopedics.

Your Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with previous experience in the profession. Experience in emergency care is meritorious. We place great emphasis on personal suitability based on the competence description.

  • Is flexible and has the ability to quickly reprioritize between different tasks.

What We Offer

Permanent or fixed-term employment. Degree of employment according to preference. Probationary period may apply, and recruitment is ongoing.

At the Emergency Department, we work on a rotation basis according to a point system with reduced working hours. We offer an individualized introduction program. During the first year at the Emergency Department, you are offered participation in clinical supervision for professional development and, if needed, extended support and reflection.

We offer competence development in the form of, among other things, ATSS (Acute Trauma Care for Nurses), AMLS (Advanced Medical Life Support), study days twice per semester including Adult CPR, Pediatric CPR, and CBRNE (handling of chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, and explosive substances). You also have the opportunity for study salary when further educating to become a specialist nurse in emergency care.
