About the Department

Neuropsychiatry is one of five adult psychiatric departments within Sahlgrenska University Hospital. We provide specialized psychiatric care focusing on memory-related diseases, neuropsychiatry, psychiatry for patients with intellectual disability, psychiatry for patients with eating disorders, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatry for deaf and hard-of-hearing patients, and for patients with Huntington's disease.

We are now seeking a Specialist Physician for the Psychiatric Clinic for Intellectual Disability.

The Psychiatric Clinic for Intellectual Disability at Sahlgrenska University Hospital is a highly specialized department with a regional remit, serving patients aged 18 and over with intellectual disability (ID) combined with behavioral problems or psychiatric issues requiring specialist care. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of doctors, nurses, support educators, psychologists, and social workers.

As a doctor, you play a key role in the clinic's work, focusing on providing well-adapted care to meet the specific needs of this patient group. Research is conducted at the clinic.

Responsibilities

Assessment and treatment of various general psychiatric conditions in individuals with intellectual disability. Standard duties for a Specialist in Psychiatry in outpatient care, including supervision of junior doctors.

Qualifications

You are a licensed physician, Specialist in Psychiatry, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, or General Practice, and have previous experience, interest, and commitment to this patient group and their specific needs. Personal suitability will be given great weight.
