Description

The ambulance care at Skaraborg Hospital operates 24/7, 365 days a year. We work continuously to improve patient safety, medical quality, accessibility, and create a work environment where our employees thrive. Ambulance care in Skaraborg consists of six operational units: Skövde, Mölltorp, Mariestad/Hova, Skara, Falköping/Tidaholm, and Lidköping/Vara. At each unit, we strive to constantly improve our professional interaction between staff and patients. Here, all efforts and employees are equally important for the overall system to function as well as possible. We have a good team spirit and value having fun at work.

We are now looking for nurses for our resource team within the ambulance service in Skaraborg. As an employee of the resource team, you are based at one unit but serve throughout the entire Skaraborg region depending on where the need arises.

Job Responsibilities

As a nurse in the ambulance service, you will work in a team close to your colleagues, providing both general and specific nursing care to patients across most specialties. The work is characterized by constant assessment and prioritization based on the patient's medical condition. The role involves networking with many different internal and external contacts. Since we always strive to improve, continuous improvement work in all processes within ambulance care is also an important task where your competence is a key resource.

You will receive a thorough introduction, participate in Appraisal and Development Talks (APT) together with your colleagues in the Resource Team, undergo training, and engage in other work-related activities relevant to the operations. You will operate within the entire Skaraborg ambulance area.

Scheduling is managed by the resource coordinators within the ambulance service at Skaraborg Hospital. The schedule covers six weeks and is created by the resource coordinators in consultation with each individual. The schedule is distributed two weeks before the start date.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a registered nurse. We prefer that you have a few years of experience. Specialist training in ambulance care is advantageous. Previous experience in ambulance care and/or emergency care is also considered an asset. Since you will encounter patients of all ages with very diverse diagnoses, we look for strong communication skills and a trustworthy approach where the patient is met in a professional and reassuring manner.

Work shifts are often spent in close collaboration with colleagues and in demanding situations. Therefore, we want you to have the ability to adjust your pace and build good relationships with your colleagues. Since the work involves being part of a resource team, great flexibility is required.

Personal suitability will be given great weight. To work as a nurse in the ambulance service, you must meet the physical requirements of the operation upon hiring. The position requires a B driver's license and access to a personal car. A C1 driver's license is advantageous.

Other Information

The position includes working weekends, evenings, nights, and weekdays according to the working hours available in the operation. Selection takes place continuously during the application period.

When appointing a position within the ambulance service, an extract from the criminal record and suspicion register is always required. This request is made by the employer.

Selection takes place during weeks 30 and 31 due to holidays.
