Torekällgymnasiet is a municipal upper secondary school in Södertälje offering vocational and introductory programs. Here, you will meet students with diverse experiences, goals, and needs – and you will become a significant adult figure in their educational journey. We are currently looking for a school nurse who wishes to contribute medical expertise, a relationship-building approach, and a strong commitment to student health. The position is permanent, part-time at 80%, with work scheduled over four days a week.

Torekällgymnasiet offers national vocational programs in construction and civil engineering, electricity and energy, plumbing and property, childcare and recreation, as well as healthcare and social care. We also offer vocational introduction programs in several areas and program-specific choices. The school is relatively small, with approximately 300 students, which creates excellent opportunities for close relationships, early identification of needs, and shared responsibility for student development.

As a school nurse with us, you will play a central role in the promoting and preventive student health work. You will work closely with students in their daily lives and contribute to creating a safe, accessible, and health-promoting school environment. The role involves both independent medical work and close collaboration with school management, the student health team, teachers, study coaches, guardians, and external actors.

At Torekällgymnasiet, there is a dedicated student health team comprising several professions working together to ensure students reach as far as possible in their education. We consciously work with attendance, study motivation, safety, and good relationships. As a school nurse, you will become a natural part of this work, contributing your medical perspective to both individual cases and the school's overall development efforts.

The role includes responsibility for the medical aspect of student health at the school. You are supported by the Student Health Medical Unit of Södertälje Municipality and are part of a professional network with other school nurses, school doctors, and specialist functions. This provides good conditions for quality, collegial learning, and development in the role.

Your Responsibilities

As a school nurse, you are responsible for the medical component of student health at the school. You work preventively, health-promotingly, and remedially, with the student's health and learning in focus.

• conduct health conversations, vaccinations, and other interventions according to the national base program
• offer counseling, support, and basic healthcare interventions based on the needs of the student and the school
• contribute medical expertise to the student health team and the school's preventive work
• collaborate with students, guardians, school staff, and external actors such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (BUP), social services, and healthcare
• work systematically with documentation, follow-up, and quality within the medical student health unit
• participate in the municipality's EMI network and contribute to the development of the school nurse role

Who Are You?

We are looking for someone who puts the student first and thrives working closely with upper secondary school-aged youth. You are secure, receptive, and professional in your interactions, and have an easy time building trust with students, guardians, and colleagues. You have good ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on your work, and you actively contribute to a good collaborative climate.

You have high relational competence and see the strengths and opportunities in students. You are flexible and solution-focused, while also being meticulous and following current routines, legislation, and professional guidelines. Experience with low-affective handling and working with youth with diverse needs is meritorious.

Requirements:

• You are a registered nurse with further education in primary healthcare, healthcare for children and youth, or the school nurse program.
• You have good ability to communicate clearly in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
• You have good digital competence and can work structured with documentation.

Meritorious Qualifications:

• experience working as a school nurse or within student health
• experience working with upper secondary school-aged youth
• experience with the medical record system Prorenata
• experience collaborating with external actors and authorities
