Are you an operating room nurse looking to work in a flexible day surgery department with a strong team focus, clear goals, and a continuous improvement mindset? Then Norra Haga might be the right place for you.

What we offer

  • Work in a newly renovated and growing day surgery unit that started over two years ago – a department where we continue to develop our working methods, flows, and routines
  • Join a stable and cohesive work group with low staff turnover
  • A role with great variety, where you meet patients from several different specialties at Karolinska
  • A goal-oriented and developmental environment focused on flow optimization, quality, and good results.

Of course, you will also enjoy our general benefits offered by Karolinska University Hospital.

About the position

Perioperative Medicine Solna covers all anesthesia, surgical, and pre-/post-operative care for adult patients, with the exception of thoracic patients. Our operations include anesthesia clinics, surgical care, as well as pre- and post-operative care before and after surgery.

Norra Haga is a day surgery department within Perioperative Medicine Solna. We launched in spring 2024 and have now been in full operation for over two years. The unit has five operating rooms and receives patients from several specialties within Karolinska. This means a broad patient category and high variation in the work.

As an operating room nurse with us, you work in a team-based and flow-oriented manner, where collaboration, structure, and clear goals are central. The work is fast-paced with a focus on efficient flows, high patient safety, and a good working environment.

We work purposefully towards our operational goals – where surgery starts, turnover times, room utilization, and quality parameters are central. Our working hours follow a fixed schedule with the benefit that you can choose to be off every third Friday.

We are looking for you who

  • are confident in your professional role and enjoy working independently
  • adapt easily to new situations and patient flows
  • work well with others, are humble, and see the big picture – "we are at the same workplace with a common goal"
  • set high goals for yourself and work hard to achieve them. You are job-focused and seek challenges, which results in personal satisfaction

Furthermore, we would appreciate it if you enjoy working with flows and see development and improvement as a natural part of everyday life.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Registered nurse with specialist education in operating room nursing

Merits:

  • Experience in several specialties as an operating room nurse
  • Several years of experience as an operating room nurse
