Your role

You will be an important part of the team surrounding the resident, collaborating with contact persons, nurses, and physiotherapists. You will work individually as well as have an important supervisory role towards the staff group. Additionally, you will perform all typical tasks for an occupational therapist in municipal elderly care:

• Assess needs, carry out, and follow up on occupational therapy interventions based on the occupational therapy process.
• Assess needs, prescribe, and follow up on assistive device requirements.
• Actively work in fall prevention efforts at the unit.
• Educate and instruct care staff regarding transfer techniques, assistive device management, and ergonomics.
• Actively work to ensure our target group can live as good and independent a life as possible, being active, participating in their daily lives, and engaging in meaningful activities.

Your qualifications and experience

We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with documented experience in elderly care. It is required that you are confident in your professional role and have the ability to adapt to new work situations and routines, with the capacity to work both independently and in a team. You will be part of a team with a physiotherapist at the care and nursing home Fruängsgården, but will also be able to cover other units within the district if needed. We place great emphasis on personal suitability and that you have a pedagogical approach in contact with residents, relatives, and other employees.
