Job Description

To SAAB's Product Development department, we are now looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with an interest in production development, hardware, and mechanics. Their Mechanics team is responsible for carrying out new development and maintenance of products' existing hardware within Saab Training & Simulations' various product areas. As an all-encompassing team focused on design, you will work closely with the development and production teams to come up with ideas and develop new functions as needs in the world change. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will primarily be involved in various types of R&D and customer projects. Together with experienced designers, you will work on developing products that meet established functional and environmental requirements. The work includes, among other things, fault investigations, process development, and detailed design. Opportunities are also given to visit customers and verify systems on-site. There is great room for own initiatives and creativity. In addition to working with production development of their products, they expect you to also contribute to improvements in working methods. The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to current regulations for security clearance. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail requirements for certain citizenship.

Qualifications

We are looking for you with a master's, civil, or bachelor's degree in mechanics, mechanical engineering, or product development, and with good competence in mechanical design. You have experience with CAD, preferably CATIA V5, and work in a structured, careful, and independent manner. At the same time, you are a team player with good collaboration skills and communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
