Are you a dental nurse who wants to deepen your knowledge in pediatric dentistry/Pedodontics? This position may be for you!

We are now advertising a position to strengthen our staff team while also giving you the opportunity to deepen your knowledge in child and adolescent dentistry.

We are looking for a dental nurse who is, or wishes to, further educate themselves to become a Specialist Dental Nurse in Pedodontics.

The new competency of Specialist Dental Nurse in Pedodontics is one of several career and development opportunities for dental nurses within Folktandvården Västra Götaland.

The first certification training for specialist dental nurse in Pedodontics started in May 2025.

As a specialist dental nurse in Pedodontics, you have in-depth formal and functional knowledge of child and adolescent dentistry and are an important part of the field of Pedodontics.

The training takes place primarily during working hours and is funded by the employer.

About Us

The Specialist Clinic for Pedodontics in Gothenburg consists of three units located at Odontologen, Mölndal Hospital, and Östra Hospital. We also perform anesthesia dentistry at several hospitals in the region. The operations at Odontologen and Mölndal Hospital work with children and adolescents who are primarily referred from general dentistry, other specialist dental care, or healthcare. This can include patients with dental anxiety and caries, complex odontological or medical diagnoses, as well as surgical procedures. The operation at Östra Hospital strives to give the sickest children the best possible oral health and care.

The clinic has close cooperation with the Department of Pedodontics at the University of Gothenburg and has several development and research projects underway. We also participate regularly in the region's ST (Specialist Training) education.

The position includes, among other things:

• Assisting dentists in patient treatment both at the clinic and during anesthesia treatment.
• Working with own patients during prophylaxis treatments, introductions, oral health counseling, or habituation treatment.

As a dental nurse, you are an important part of the clinic to ensure our patients receive optimal care and succeed with their oral health.

Competency Requirements and Profile

• Educated dental nurse with education from MYH (Swedish Authority for Higher Vocational Education)
• At least two years of experience as a dental nurse
• Interest and experience in child and adolescent dentistry
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written
• Ability to independently handle administration

About the Recruitment Process

If you are not already employed by us, you will be contacted by recruiters from the HR unit for an interview. After the application period ends, the clinic manager selects candidates and invites them to an interview at the clinic.
