Your Role

As part of our continued growth in Aeronautics, we are looking for several new colleagues to join our procurement organization within the Gripen business area. As a Strategic Buyer, you are responsible for, together with the organization, developing long-term sustainable and commercial partnerships with our suppliers. You handle the overall commercial responsibility – from strategy formulation and contracting to performance monitoring – and collaborate closely with functions such as production, development, marketing, and aftermarket.

Key responsibilities in this role:

• Develop and implement procurement strategies for electromechanical components, such as wiring and connectors, in close collaboration with design, component, and your Supplier Team.
• Negotiate commercial terms and design supplier agreements for long-term supply from a total cost perspective.
• Lead and coordinate supplier teams in collaboration with other functions.
• Establish and develop relationships with both new and existing suppliers.
• Overall responsibility for monitoring and analyzing supplier performance related to cost, lead time, quality, and delivery capability.
• Drive necessary initiatives purposefully and with structure.
• Participate in industrialization projects.

Your Profile

We are looking for you who have experience in strategic procurement and want to take a key role in developing and driving our procurement strategy forward. You are a confident and business-driven person with strong analytical skills. You easily build trust, influence decision-makers, and create long-term value through strategic purchasing. We are looking for someone who has:

• Several years of experience in strategic procurement.
• Post-secondary education in economics, engineering, law, or equivalent.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Good business acumen and the ability to work both strategically and operationally.
• Experience in leading projects and driving change initiatives.
• Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both verbal and written.

It is an advantage if you have experience in contract writing and negotiation in complex and international contexts. We also view it positively if you have an interest in and understanding of complex systems, as well as experience working in technical projects.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the security clearance regulations in effect at any given time. For positions where Saab requires security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
