Your Mission

As a Social Secretary, you are the child's primary representative and work to ensure that the child's needs, rights, and perspective are always in focus.

  • Responsible for contact with the child and ensuring the child's voice is heard.
  • Follow up on the child's situation and well-being during placements.
  • Conduct individual conversations with children and young people.
  • Investigate the child's need for support, protection, and interventions.
  • Prepare, follow up, and revise care and implementation plans.
  • Collaborate with foster homes, biological parents, schools, healthcare, and other authorities.
  • Document according to current legislation, such as the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Care of Young Persons (LVU).
  • Participate in network meetings, follow-up meetings, and legal processes if necessary.
  • Work to ensure the child has a safe, stable, and developmental upbringing environment.

Your Experience

We are looking for you who have relevant education and experience in authority work within social work with children and young people.

  • A degree in Social Work or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
  • Experience in social work with children, young people, and families.
  • Knowledge of the Social Services Act (SoL), LVU, and other relevant legislation.
  • Good knowledge of and experience working according to BBIC (Barns Behov i Centrum / Children's Needs in the Center).
  • Experience in investigative work and authority work is meritorious.
  • Good ability to document and express yourself well in speech and writing.
  • Experience collaborating with various actors and authorities is an advantage.

About the Workplace

The Social Services Investigation Unit works with children and young people aged 0-18 and their families. The unit is divided into different teams; Reception, Investigating Social Secretaries, Foster Homes, and Family Law.

In the foster home group, a total of seven people work, including both foster home secretaries and child secretaries. The team is led by the deputy unit manager.

Salary between 36,000 to 52,400 SEK depending on experience and responsibility. The final salary is determined individually and is based on a combined assessment of your educational background, previous experience, and the area in which you have worked previously.
