We are looking for you who want to make a real difference in another person's daily life.
The position is part-time, 30–75%, during daytime or evening hours. The workplace is located in the northern part of Örebro County.
As a personal assistant, you work closely with a child who has extensive needs for support, structure, and communication. The job involves being a safe and stable support through the day's various activities, both at home and in other environments. It is a requirement that you speak and understand Swedish fluently.
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or people with disabilities.
- Has knowledge of or experience with AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).
- Is calm, secure, and uses a low-affective approach. Is patient and can provide support at the pace the situation requires.
- Has the ability to create structure, predictability, and security in daily life.
- Is attentive, responsible, and can work preventively.
- Has good collaboration skills and can follow common working methods and routines.
- Has good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Personal qualities
To thrive in this role, you need to be someone who can maintain calm even when situations change rapidly. You understand that development and communication sometimes require time, repetition, and endurance. You see the value in small progress and have the ability to build trusting relationships over time.
What we offer
- A meaningful job where you make a difference every day.
- Introduction and support in the assignment.
- An engaged team focused on quality and collaboration.
- Opportunities to develop your knowledge within AAC, communication, and pedagogical support.
Previous experience with personal assistance, AAC, autism, or intellectual disability is an advantage.
"We particularly value those who understand that relationship, patience, and trust are the foundation of a good assistant assignment. In this assignment, it is often more important to be able to adapt your pace to the individual than to drive the process forward yourself."
To thrive and grow in the profession of personal assistant, a well-founded view of humanity regarding the equal value of all people is required, along with courage, engagement, and a desire to make a difference for someone else. Good self-awareness, sensitivity, and flexibility are also important qualities.
