About the role

Hot rolling consists of the sections Pickling, Rolling & Slitting, and Annealing. We produce pickled, cold-rolled, and annealed material for internal and external customers. The Rolling & Slitting section consists of the sections Tandem, Rolling Mill Polisher, and Slitting Line 1 & 2.

We are now looking for an Operations Manager for the Rolling Mill Polisher where you work to ensure the section meets set production goals. You are expected to actively analyze, initiate, and carry out activities that improve the section's production stability.

In your daily work, you work closely with the section's management team, maintenance, shift crews, purchasing, as well as process and quality engineers.

You are responsible for creating results and developing operations in line with SSAB's strategy and values, and to become the world's safest steel company, safety is an important part of our daily life.

Your main areas of responsibility

• Responsible for ensuring the section meets the set goals within production stability and productivity, and contributes to achieving goals within strategy, delivery security, and working environment.
• Analyze, initiate, and carry out activities/projects that lead to improvements in the section's production stability and productivity, as well as generate investment basis. Initiates and leads root cause analyses.
• Responsible for the development/purchase of different rolling types, grinding wheels, grinding fluid, stock, chemicals, and other consumables. In the role, you are also the contact person for external suppliers.

You thrive in a role where you both work practically with handling disruptions in production and contribute to long-term improvements.

We would like you to have broad experience from work within operations or maintenance.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. You are responsible, proactive, and collaborative, with a positive attitude. You find it easy to communicate and collaborate with people in different roles and at different levels.

Qualifications

• Experience from process or manufacturing industry, preferably with elements of production management.
• Good ability to structure, prioritize, and focus in your work.
• Strong desire to continuously develop technology and working methods.
• Ability to work both operationally with arising disruptions in production as well as strategically with long-term improvements.
• Good analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both in speech and writing.
