At Norconsult, you will have the opportunity to develop and drive mechanical solutions – from early stages to completed facilities – in close collaboration with both colleagues and customers.
Here, you will become part of an industrial group in Borlänge with strong local roots while having access to a broad national network within mechanics, electrical engineering, automation, and machine safety. Our assignments are varied and technically challenging, with a clear connection to industrial development. Here you will find a role that combines technical responsibility with customer dialogue.
Your Responsibilities
In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, you are a key person in our projects. You are responsible for developing and implementing sustainable and well-functioning mechanical solutions, often in an advisory role towards the customer.
Your main tasks:
- Take responsibility for the mechanics area in projects, from start to delivery
- Develop and optimize designs and technical solutions
- Create and quality-assure drawings, models, and technical documentation
- Support the customer in requirement setting and technical decisions
- Participate in installation, commissioning, and follow-up
- Participate in risk analysis and work related to machine safety
- Contribute to the development of colleagues through mentoring and knowledge sharing
- Participate in tenders and the development of our service offerings
You may have roles such as project manager, technical lead, or specialist depending on the assignment.
Your Profile
We are looking for you who have a solid technical foundation and thrive in a role where you take responsibility and work closely with the customer.
You have:
- A university or civil engineering degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent
- Several years (preferably 8+ years) of experience in mechanical design within the industry
- The ability to independently drive technical assignments
- Good proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., Inventor or SolidWorks)
- Experience with design adapted for production, assembly, and operation
- A valid driver's license (Category B)
It is an advantage if you also have:
- Experience in customer responsibility or project management
- Background from process, energy, or manufacturing industries
- Knowledge of machine safety and current regulations
- Experience with calculations, e.g., strength or FEM
- Practical experience from installation or commissioning
As a person, you are structured, solution-focused, and business-minded. You are confident in your competence and have an easy time building trust in customer relationships.
