Tillväxtverket is a preparedness authority and sectoral responsible body for the new sector of industry, construction, and trade. Trade is crucial for distributing and ensuring access to necessary products in society.

The position is located within the Unit for Rural Areas and Local Capacity (LOK) at the Division for Business and Regional Development. The LOK unit currently holds responsibility for issues related to commercial services in rural areas, a strengthened civil society, and enhanced local capacity in development matters.

About the position

The focus of this position is to contribute to and strengthen Tillväxtverket's organization in relation to total defense and preparedness, with a focus on trade. Duties include monitoring external conditions and challenges for the trade industry and establishing a structure for public-private collaboration. The role involves leading and producing content for ongoing reports, such as monthly national situation assessments. The assignment includes creating networks for environmental scanning, collaboration, and knowledge acquisition regarding trade. Other government agencies, industry organizations, and relevant parts of the business sector are important partners in this. The role also involves developing collaboration internally within the authority and with the agencies Boverket (National Board of Housing, Building and Planning) and Sveriges geologiska undersökning (SGU), which are part of the preparedness sector. To succeed in the assignment, you will work together with other preparedness handlers at the authority and utilize the competencies and knowledge of other colleagues.

The position is newly established, offering great opportunities for you to influence the setup and implementation.

Your workplace will be: Östersund or Stockholm

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A university or college degree, equivalent to at least three years of study, preferably in a social science-oriented field such as: Risk and crisis management, social sciences, economics, or law.
  • At least three years of experience working in areas such as business development, spatial planning, trade, or regional development.
  • Experience in environmental scanning, analysis, and written reporting regarding the development of industries or the business sector, spatial planning, or economic development at the national, regional, or local level.
  • Knowledge of trade structures and conditions, acquired through work in the industry or studies.
  • At least three years of work experience in collaboration and dialogue with the business sector, organizations, and authorities.
  • Good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish and English.

The following are meritorious:

  • Work experience within logistics and supply chains related to trade.
  • Previous work that required an understanding of the different actors in trade and their most critical operations.
  • Experience within total defense and preparedness work, such as continuity planning and risk and vulnerability analyses.
  • Work experience within the Swedish preparedness system.
  • Work with security-classified activities.

As a person, we are looking for you who are a good communicator, easy to collaborate with, and comfortable with external contacts and contexts.

You are analytical and have the ability to draw conclusions from complex situations. Furthermore, you are self-motivated and proactive in your work.

The position is security-classified and requires Swedish citizenship. Security clearance with register check will be conducted prior to employment according to Chapter 3 of the Security Protection Act.
