Your Role

As an Innovation Engineer specializing in software within our innovation lab, you will work hands-on in projects focused on rapidly moving from idea to demonstrating new technical solutions.

Your main responsibility is to quickly develop prototypes to demonstrate the value of new solutions to relevant problem areas. You will drive the technical progress in our demo projects from idea to demonstration by applying the latest technology, such as AI, new materials, sensors, and manufacturing methods.

You will work in a cross-functional team with high autonomy, focusing on building, testing, and learning through rapid iterations. The role requires a practical approach where you take initiative and combine your creativity with engineering problem-solving in direct collaboration with colleagues from various disciplines within Dynamics.

Responsibilities:

• Drive demo projects through rapid development and iteration of prototypes and technical solutions
• Work on pure software demo projects as well as solutions where multiple technical disciplines are integrated
• Explore and test new technologies in practical applications
• Help colleagues turn their ideas and concepts into concrete demonstrations
• Contribute to the development of the innovation lab and future working methods

Your Profile

We are looking for someone who is a builder at heart and motivated by building, testing, and learning quickly. You have an engineering background or equivalent experience, with a focus on software development, but also an understanding of how software and hardware interact in systems.

You are comfortable in the borderland between these disciplines and have practical experience in building things. For example, through personal projects, prototype development, and hardware-related work.

To thrive in this role, we believe you are someone driven by creating, testing, and improving at a high tempo. You have a clear "maker" mindset and enjoy quickly turning ideas into something concrete. You are comfortable with ambiguity and can find pragmatic ways forward independently, without detailed instructions.

We would appreciate it if you have a genuine interest in technology that is also visible outside of work, for example through personal projects or participation in makerspaces. You are accustomed to taking initiative, working independently, yet engaging others to drive projects forward. This role suits you if you thrive in an environment where not everything is defined from the start and where you get to be involved early in the creation process.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the current security clearance regulations. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may, in some cases, entail citizenship requirements.
