Job Responsibilities

As a teacher at the after-school center in Hammarö Municipality, you will have the opportunity to be a central part of the after-school center's work and contribute to a meaningful school day for the students. In the role of after-school teacher, you work together with other staff to plan, implement, and develop the activities based on our guiding documents and common goals.

Your tasks during the school day may vary depending on both your competence and the students' needs, making each day unique and developmental. The position also includes, together with other after-school pedagogues, responsibility for planning and implementing the school's break-time activities.

You are part of a work team where you are expected to contribute a solution-oriented and results-focused approach, always with the students' needs in focus. In close collaboration with colleagues, you actively work to create an accessible and inclusive learning environment for all students.

In your role, you will use and evaluate various pedagogical methods to promote development and learning, while also seeking new strategies to meet each individual's needs and strengthen their knowledge-based and personal development.

We are looking for you who are mission-aware and self-initiating, with a strong ability to build trusting relationships with both students, guardians, and colleagues.

As part of Hammarö Municipality, you will also have access to support and development through our after-school center developer, who leads quality work, arranges network meetings, and is responsible for joint meetings for all after-school centers within the municipality.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have a pedagogical degree with a focus on after-school centers. We assume that you stand firmly in the school's value base and can implement the curriculum with high quality. You should be a clear and positive leader in the group of children with the ability to create a good and accessible learning environment. You have an exploratory approach to work and work for inclusive solutions with the goal that students are involved in their learning.

We place great emphasis on personal suitability, and your work should be permeated by curiosity, warmth, and conscious choices. We want you to describe your abilities in meeting the student, in leadership, and in collaboration with others in your application and during a possible interview.

From experience, we know that the ability to analyze and reflect on one's own efforts and the content of the activity is of great importance for quality. Therefore, it is important that you can reflect on the content of the activity and your implementation. We assume that you have good collaboration skills, willingness, and ability to participate in the systematic quality work of the after-school center and the school.

At Bärstadsskolan, we are a training school, and we expect you to undergo the supervisor training at Karlstad University (KAU) if you have not already done so.

Experience from work in preschool class, after-school center, and primary school is meritorious.
